The Courtyard Wing

The self-catering Courtyard Wing can be found to the rear of the main house. It has its own entrance through an enclosed flagged courtyard and can sleep up to approximately 14 people within six bedrooms. The beautifully restored Grade I listed building, which was originally called Abercamlais Isaf, was first built in the 1660’s, is perfect for family gatherings.

There is full central heating throughout, with warmth being provided by the large biomass boiler. The living areas in the Wing have wifi coverage but not all bedrooms have it. 4G is throughout the locale.

  • Ground Floor

The ground floor entrance opens into a spacious coat and boot lobby. The utility room, next to the kitchen and lobby, has a washing machine and fridge freezer as well as storage space. The kitchen/dining room is open plan; it has a large fridge & dishwasher and is well equipped and has a 5 ring gas hob and double electric oven.

  • First Floor

    The Elephant Room: 2 singles

The Old Kitchen: 1 double and 1 single

There are 2 bathrooms with loos on the first floor – one has a bath & shower and the other just a shower. The Sitting Room is also situated on the first floor via a light and airy landing. It’s a large room with 3 sofas and has a Smart TV so people need to bring their own Netflix access codes.

  • Second Floor

    Penry’s Room: 1 double and 2 singles

    The Parrot Room: 1 double

The Bell Room: 1 double and 1 single

The Attic Room: 1 double and 3 singles

There is a shower room, separate WC and a complete separate bathroom with WC, on the second floor.

Outside

In the Courtyard outside, there is a boiler room to dry boots & coats. There is plenty of space to store bikes, buggies etc. in the servants’ hall.

For the warmer and dryer months there are tables and chairs in the courtyard along with a BBQ and home produced charcoal. Leading from the courtyard itself there is a south facing terrace next to the Conservatory (c.1825)

Guests are very welcome to explore the grounds and gardens, and there is plenty of information available about the area and ‘what to do’.

Gavin and Vina are normally on hand to give information on local walks and events.
